Well that video spiked my attention quick cheap and easy. It is as portrayed..5mins later the boat is white again...the hard part was laying down under the boat and spraying it on. However maybe Ondarvr might say something here...this is a bit to easy and cheap...There's always a price.

Advance the vid to 6 minutes

We've discussed this many times on the forum. Sno-Bowl toilet cleaner I has a high concentration of it and works really well removing stains from gel

I always have some around, it works great on some stains and does almost nothing on others. If the inside of your dishwasher is stained just run some through it, it will be spotless.

I am a bit skeptical on the Vid.

I dont think your going to wipe some gel stains off like that with a solution of oxalic acid.

OA would do great for Rust .. but not for organic growth/grime on a plastic hull ( its not rust ).

I have seen some other acids that work like what the Vid shows .. but its not OA.

You think other Main production hull cleaners Dont use such a simple product and sell them for Millions because its too simple ?

OA in a squirt bottle that sells for 9.95/qt solves your bottom boat stains? .. Its not going to work like this.

LOL.

I think this is Fake. I could be wrong ..

Soft scrub with bleach and some water will kill All growth and algae/stains. A few passes with a scrub brush and a hose will leave your hull nice and clean :) .

Re: Hull cleaner oxalic acid

Here is my experience with OA.
I was very skeptical of this video myself when I saw it early last summer. I did a little research and asked around in local marine shops. Everyone agreed that this is a tried and true way to clean FB hulls. I tried on a small area in the bottom of the hull. The results were amazing!! Stains were coming out easy by just wiping them off with a rag. I sprayed the hull, waited 10 or 15 min (if I remember correctly) and used a rag to wipe off stubborn areas. It worked.
I used the same concentration as in the video and later in the season I noticed that the area that I applied wax on it after the acid did not get any stains during the season. Stains have returned, later during the season, on the areas with no wax. I will repeat the process this season but I will make sure that I wax the hull right after. I accidently sprayed some acid on the outdrive. I rinsed it real good and noticed no corrosion or paint damage later.

As Ondarvr indicated, it has no effect on some other stains. I had a red stain which survived couple of applications of OA but the rubbing compound took care of it.

YD line of questions and skepticism is very logical. It is exactly what I was going through myself. But this method ? judging by my experience at least ? worked fine. Thanks for posting a link to buy online; I paid quite a bit more for it; maybe because I bought it from a ?marine? supply store.

At first glance were on the same page...However i did the boat late in the day and this mourning i have had the time to closely inspect the results. It works period actually it cleaned the hull so well the orignal graphic's lines can be seen again...i thought i had buffed them out. Yes DR. i too agree to good to be true and since Ondarvr hasnt voiced concerns about gel coat damage. Dont be a old fart stuck in your way's...give it a whirl..take a walk on the wild side..:D

If you have cleaned black mold or fungus with bleach and watch it just disapear...It is much the same but...it ate the residue down to those old graphic line's now that impressive i have not seen them for 6 yrs. And as stated it does not clean dirt or grease.

Long term exposure on gel coat may cause some issues, but short term appears to do nothing. I first used in on stains in F/G swimming pools and spas about 30 years ago.
