i purchased a new (06) tahoe q4s last year. after this seasons use i noticed hull blisters below the waterline. this was documented prior to the warranty expiration. my dealer has sent photos and documentation to tracker and they refuse to repair the blisters.

anyone dealt with this situation and what am i missing with the warranty.

Re: hull blisters

Hi Jeff,

I purchased my new Q7i last August '07 and haven't run into this problem...and, hope that I never do. I'm interested to know what the reason is for denying the repairs? What does the dealer recommend? Perhaps your insurance company will pay for the repairs. Or, you may have to seek legal advice.

Good luck and keep us other Tahoe owners advised.

Re: hull blisters

the dealer states that Tracker will not repair because it will be a onetime fix. the boat stays in water and this is the cause for the blisters. after research i have found that this is a manufacturing defect when the gelcoat is applied. i am awaiting the wording on the warranty and will pursue from that point.

i have also found that the blisters may be repaired and a treatment with a product called "interlux: will prohibit the reoccurence. this treatment will not prevent the blisters, just slow the process down. the warmer the climate and waters, if a boat, imagine this, stays in water the blisters may appear.

i am anticipating a long, battle with Tracker.

Good luck Jeff...Were all with you one this one.

I'm curious to know how you discovered this problem as a manufacturer's defect.

Jeff,

I am curious on the outcome with Tracker??? I discovered osmosis on my 2009 Tahoe Q5 this fall, my local dealer recently went out of business so I contacted Tracker directly, and they said the same thing as you encountered. I brought my boat into another boat dealership to winterize and they said that this is a manufacturer's defect. I called insurance and they also confirmed.

welcome to iBoats . . .

this thread is about 5 years old. The rules frown on responding to old threads unless the OP re-activates the dialog.

you could PM the person instead., or perhaps there are some more current threads discussing the same issue.
