" I like trimmed Bush ..... "

Me too, it's a lot easier on the tongue.

As far as the rest of your post, head on down there and buddy up, I'm sure Chavez would love to have as his "poster boy"

(notice the bold and underlined)

Chavez is, even though Democratically elected, still a buffoon. He is crude, unschooled, and a thug... basically a clown on the world stage.

After his performance this week at the UN and elsewhere, the whole world knows it.

I just love the mind numb, trained seal types running around basking in his idiocy. I fail again to see how encouraging this fool after calling our troops mass murderers, qualifies as supporting our troops.

you speak from experience haut...:$

I think Chavez has upstaged all you Bush haters....Chavez makes all of you look foolish, hes been taking notes...

This just in...

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez launched a new personal attack against President George W. Bush, calling the US leader an "alcoholic" and a "sick man" during a tour of the New York district of Harlem.
Speaking while walking in a Harlem street, Chavez told a group of passers-by: "Bush is an alcoholic, a sick man with a lot of hang-ups."

"He walks like John Wayne," declared the left-wing Venezuelan leader. "He doesn't know anything about politics, he got there because of Daddy." Bush's father, George Bush, was also a US president.

In a controversial speech before the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Chavez called Bush "the devil" and "a tyrant."

Chavez went to Harlem to announce the expansion of a programme to send cheap Venezuelan oil to poor families in New York.

How about "Axis of Evil" & the innuendo that goes along with that phrase?
Once again, I do not support Chavez in his personal attacks on the president....
In fact hey are so childish that they are comical....
Certainly not behavior befitting a head of state......
As I said, he will buddy up with Iran for now, but it won't last because VE is a christian country......
It is a marriage of covenience to push their respective agendas.......
I think the best thing that "W" can do is not say anything & let Chavez dig his own hole with regard to the seat on the UN.....
.After what they have seen, they may want to deal with him as little as possible.......
I do wonder how the average person in VE feels about all this blather....JK
After what they have seen, they may want to deal with him as little as possible.......

What a joke Haut. Chavez wasn't even part of that statement. But if you think that that term is offensive of inclusive of a historic referrence, your uses of Reich Wing is even more disgusting.

Democracy is dangerous in a poor and under educated nation,or for that matter in a poor and educated nation.
For the power hungry the only difference between dictature and democracy is the vehicle used in order to get power.Chavez is just one example.Hitler was another.
Remember that you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
Chavez too will fade into the past.Maybe by democratic means, maybe by a coup.
As far as people applauding him in a university, maybe we should try to find out how many people did not even bother to go see that whacko.

Where they made a mistake was not having an escourt for this thug to see him to the airport right after the UN meeting so he could get back to his Country instead of letting him run wild in the streets. IMO.

Free Speech is what we are, let him talk. Does not take much thinking to see his agenda. Several here make a point well taken, democracy without knowledge and free thinking is not always good.

All great democracies were in their prime and best when freedom was wide spread and lead by thinking open minded people. Then narrow mindedness lead by greed takes over and democracy fails. Any similarities here.

Re: Hugo Chavez gets standing ovation at university

I don't think anyone is suggesting we muzzle him, as much fun as that would be, it is the coverage and joy some are gleening from the demeaning of our country and our president that makes at least me disgusted.

As much as I hear about reaching out to our opponents across the isle, this guy is doing nothing more than stirring up world resentment. If he wants to be the poster boy for the anti-American crowd he should have the stones to at least walk the walk, and cut off our oil supply. But that of course would hit him in the pocketbook. Not gunna happin. He looks like a tough guy strutting around like a peacock, but when the rubber meets the road he is just another nobody looking for popular press. And guess what, in the United States there are thousands of willing participants in the press drooling to give him a microphone. He had nothing of value to say, just who he doesn't like. And lo and behold there are the intellectual elite looking to provide opportunity for a clueless fool to spred his flawed brand of Nationalism.

I don't like him. But those who would use him to their own ends at the expense of our country is what is truely sickening. Remember freedom of speech means you have the right to say whatever you like, it doesn't entitle you to a stage and a microphone.

Again, how does this support the troops? I would ram this down every liberals throat at every opportunity in the up-coming election and have them show their true colors and allegences. I can't imagine the response if President Bush made comments about other nations like this clown. Look at what calling world terrorists got him. The double standard is tough to overlook.

Re: Hugo Chavez gets standing ovation at university

Again, I offer you Chet Edwards, one of the RNP biggest target in the upcoming election. He supports the troops everyday with his actions and comments. Sorry to bust your bubble but the right has a severe problem with classifying all people.

As for Chavez you give the world too little credit. Those who hate or dislike America are not changed or made by him or his remarks. Those who feel the opposite will not become haters because of what he says.

Chavez is a little man trying to make a big splash but the pool is way too big. Sorry but all he has I want is the oil.
