How's this Merc 2007 5.0L MPI sound?

There's a whiring sound to me - normal? abnormal? abnormal but nothing to worry about? What is it?

I don't know how to describe the whiring other than sounds like a commercial airplane at the gate with the APU power generator still running prior to gate close and pushback.


Some clicking too.. sound all good?

The ticking is the only thing that bothers me, but no clue what it is

Exhaust manifold gasket

Whirring may be alternator?

The tick sounds like an exhaust leak, take care of that first then worry about the other sound.

I agree exhaust gaskets could be it based on this video:

as far as I'm aware the exhaust gaskets is original to the engine and at 15yrs old...

Runnin' yer hand 'round the gasket areas, will tell ya exactly where it's leakin',......
You'll feel the heat,....

The whirin' sounds like belt noise, pretty normal,....
