Hows GPSMap 172C if you have it do you like it

I think I want this gps unit seems like a good mix of features and prices.

I have used it and it is a nice unit. All of the older garmins are essentiall the same. The screen is nice, and the size is nice. The only problem would be the cost and availability of charts. Depending on where you do your boating, buying charts could get expensive, so you may be better off checking out a 492, 192 if you can find it, or the newer 440.
