How to winterize aq151a - changed oil recently.

No idea what to do. First boat. Do i need to Change oil if I just recently did? Fuel stabilizer?
Impeller oil?

I live in the Pacific Northwest. It only drops below freezing a few days a year. Nobody runs block heaters on their trucks or anything.

Oil gets changed
Raw water side gets drained
Drive gets pulled
U-joints get checked
Drive lube gets serviced
Raw water impeller gets pulled

It even freezes in Texas and Florida. So definitely do not take a chance in the Pacific Northwest

Is it a FWC or RWC? If you have less than 10 hours on the engine oil I would skip changing it.
Drive gear oil gets changed. Change the raw water impeller. Other winterizing steps depend on whether it's a FWC or RWC engine.

The Volvo Penta owners manual has the information for winterizing. VP manuals are mostly on the Internet.

I dont know. Its raw water but also has heat exchange. As far as I know. And I dont know much

If heat exchanger then it's FWC. Drop the hoses from raw water pump into bilge or something to catch a pint or two of water. If they are not different size hoses remember (or mark) where they go. Don't want to flip them.

Look for a blue plastic wing-nut type of drain plug on each exhaust riser. Look for a possible second one on each exhaust manifold.

So a FWC can be engine only or engine and exhaust manifold. If only engine then the exhaust manifold should have a blue plastic drain plug.

My FWC VP engine has a fuel cooler so you need to drop a hose to drain that if you have one.

Use turkey baster to get a few ounces of coolant out of heat exchanger into Dixie cup into freezer overnight to check condition of the coolant.

Take each blue plastic drain plug in finger and see if you can easily snap the threaded section half way down threading. If they snap then replace. They deteriorate after a few years of use. Best to check in fall and order new ones for the spring than find out in the spring they snapped while installing them and then wait for new ones to arrive.

I think you still need to review owners manual to check if exhaust manifold is RWC or FWC. And if there is a fuel cooler.
