Well, it took a lot of investigation, but I finally sorted it out :)

After looking at a Ford code scanner and the instruction for an OMC one,
I noticed that the Ford test button was a click type always off.
So you push on and let go off.

However, the OMC manual that explains the OMC tester, the test
button is hold type. Click on and let go on, then click off and let go off.

So, I applied this to the Innova scanner I have (31403).
Well what would you know it, it works.
What works?

Simple:
Get a 12v 6 amp switch.
Get a lenght of small speaker cable and cut it to the lenght of
your scanner's interface cable.
Get a crocodile spring clamp and a female and a male spade connector.

At one end of the cable, strip the insulation and affix the ends
to the switch. (Soldering or spade connectors work fine)
At the other end, on one wire, solder the crocodile spring clamp.
On the other wire, crimp a female spade connector and a male spade connector.
Make sure the terminals you use will fit your scanner's pins.

Then, ground the crocodile clamp to the ground bolt of one of the relays
right next to the diag connector.
Plug in the female spade connector on your scanner's interface cable.
Plug in the male spade in the fuel injection's STI output.
(Single wire out of the trapeze connector).

Now, with the switch, you can ground that STI and send the fuel injection
in test mode.

WARNING:
Do NOT:
Start the engines with the switch at on, grounding the STI pin in test mode.
This will ERASE your codes and starting will be VERY difficult.

Do NOT:
Press the test button on your scanner and then switch on your STI ground.
This will also ERASE your codes.

How to do it:
Connect your scanner to the engines diag harness and your extra ground.
You should already see the Ford OBD1 menu.
Choose KOEO test. It should fail, however take notice when it actually starts.
Mine asks a question about a turbo engine, etc.

Once you have established which button press starts the test on your scanner,
turn the key off and on again and go trough the on KOEO test again.
When you are ready to press the button to start the test, switch your ground
on a fraction of a second before the scanner and then hit test on your scanner.
You will hear clicking sounds and what not.
Then your scanner will receive the codes and place them in memory.

Then, run the Engine Running test.
This will not require your switched ground as my scanner
set off the test without issues.

Enjoy!
