Are you in a title state? If so, the previous owner should have provided the title for the boat, engine and trailer if required.

if it looks like 90's the hin must be there...

even if the boat was re built and the transom re gellcoated....it still must be there by law.

The 3 boats I've owned all had the VIN etched into the upper starboard area of the transom. If you can't see it (maybe that blue stripe was a repaint?) run your fingers over that area. You should be able to feel it.

Good luck!

Re: How to tell the age of a sportcraft 1900 sprint

I had a 1989 sprint 1900CC that looked very similar. The hull number was located just under the rub rail on the transom. I can't remember for the life of me which side but I believe the right side. Mine had a flat panel windshield and I remember the 1990 model had the curved windshield. So you could assume it is at least that new. You can also try matching up the age of the motor and outdrive since it appears to be original to the boat (mine was an AQ131c mated to an SP-CD Volvo outdrive). Hope that helps and enjoy the boat - if it weren't for us changing boating styles we would still be cruising around in our Sportcraft.
