I have a 2003 yamaha 130 txrb. My cap is leaking in my engine oil tank. I would like to take it off and see why it is leaking. In order to remove the cap, do you have to line up the 2 arrows and just lift up. I didn't want to force it and break it. How do I go about takibg it off? Also how is the cap suppose to be when it's operating? Thanks guys

you mean the rubber cap on the tank located on the motor with wires coming out ? The one that leaks when motor is tilted up.. Get a stainless hose clamp and it should stop leaking

To answer your question, the sensor cap is a snap fit onto the oil tank inlet. Just pry up on one side and it should pop free.

The arrows are to be aligned when reinstalling the cap.

The leakage of the cap to the tank is a common problem. Either don't tilt the motor up, install a new cap or try and use something to perfect the seal. Hose clamp or tie straps can be used. Just snug them down. Do not over tighten.

Yea it's the engines oil tank that leaks. So I guess other people have a problem with that. I didn't think of using a hose clamp. I will get one and see if it stops leaking.thamks a bunch
