hello all again, i have a 91 force 90 hp, serial number 908f91c, i am trying to figure out how to rev my engine in neutral to warm up the throttle, my boat dies in neutral and also dies when i put it into drive, this has been happening quite a bit, but when i am moving it runs just fine...
i am told there is a button to press in to allow you to hit the throttle in neutral, i cannot find it on my boat, maybe there is another way?? any help would be appreciated as always...

It depends on the type of control and I'm not an expert on OB's....but there should be a button, like maybe in the center of the control handle that you push in an move the throttle forward...some of the handles you pull out on and then push forward...some of them have a separate lever that you lift up on at the rear of the control just to give throttle in neutral...they're are many different types and I can't tell you which one you have based on the engine model...someone probably can...just not me.

that is the cdorrect model number on my engine, yet my ignition and kill switches are to the left of my steering wheel, not on control.. also, no button in sight, just the one you engage to put in gear..

Try pulling the control handle out towards you by grabbing it around the pivot area, and then rotate it forward to increase throttle.

Noel;

Are there holes on the rear of your control box where the start/kill switches are supposed to be? If so, someone has modified the system.

However, with that control box, you only have the option to advance the shift lever. Does yours have the Tilt/Trim switches at the top of the shift handle?
