Hi, I have a 1988 Evenrude 150 with tilt and trim. The toggle switch on the control arm works but intermediatly. I have purchased the replacement, but unsure how or if I need to take the throttle arm off the control box to replace the switch. Any suggestions. Thanks!!

I've got a dual binnacle mount. I only had to remove the screws running the length of the handle.

It was an easy job. YMMV

Re: How to replace tilt/trim swithch on throttle control

I would like to thank Fl_Richard. With his advise I was able to make the repair to the tilt/trim on my 88 Hydra-Sport. I switched the original part out with a BRP Evinrude/Johnson kit AY, Switch-Conversion. Cost about $60.00. I had to remove the controler from the side wall of the boat then remove an allen screw next use a small punch to take the handle off. I made the changes and re-installed the handle. Next I opened the control box amd applied some grease to the moving parts and some cable wax to the cables. Re-installed the control box and test the parts all worked Great!!!!
Thank You for the help.
