Before biting the bullet for $1k I would rent a real pressure washer.One with serious psi.Depending on the condition of the paint ,you should be able to remove a huge amount of the unsound paint.If you get the angle of the fan tip correct ,you may be able to remove all of the paint.You can also damage the gelcoat if you get careless with the spray angle and point it too direct.Worth a try.I have done this before.with no damage.Charlie
