I have searched all over and read numerous threads, but none of the older links (one from 2009) that had pics work. I am wanting to make sure I remove the right things. Any help pointing me to a good how-to with pics would be appreciated. Thanks.

I read that I should remove ALL Black boxes. The larger port side box that has oil and fuel input and outputs is mainly the one. I wanted to remove it and hook the fuel directly to the pump, but wasn't sure if that would work. The black box in the bottom right of the pic is my main concern. Thanks in advance guys, this motor is coming along.

The oil pump has to be a gear pump (driven part inside the pump proper) to ensure the quantity of oil vs the shaft rotation. With that said, if the shaft isn't turning the gears are not moving and the oil is not flowing. So, remove the drive gear, the one you see when you pull the pump and drives the internal gears, and any loose shims or washers associated with the gear shaft up in the pump housing where the drive gear shaft was located.

On my 90 hp, I merely pulled the pump by removing the mounting screws, grasped the gear with attached shaft and pulled it out. Felt around for anything loose up in the hole, like a shaft bushing, found nothing and put her back together. You don't have to change any plumbing due to the pump design. Just put in your pre-mix and go.

Thanks Mark,
I already have found posts explaining how, but nothing is a substitute for some good pics. I want to remove everything I can. I prefer the basics :)

You cant remove the VST as it has the pressure regulator and fuel returns. Just dump the oil pump and shaft, install block off kit, remove fuel/oil tee and unplug purple wire from oil module and remove upper cap/float assy.30mins max if you have parts/tools in hand....

Project complete. Decarbed while I was at it. Lots of white smoke. Also, let seafoam sit in the cylinders for 24 hours after about 10 turns of the fly wheel.
