How to pull two tubes at once

On Saturday, we pulled two tubes at once. It was a real blast having tube wars. At first the two ropes were different lengths and this caused some real safety concerns. After correcting that issue, it was a blast.
My question is, is this the proper ways to tow two tubes at once? Do they make a single rope that splits near the end for this purpose?

Well one rope that splits at the end would be no fun since you would always be next to the other tube. Use two of the same ropes for more fun.

Just this morning I bought a second tube for this very purpose!
My question is: Do you hook up both ropes on the center, or maybe hook up each rope on each side on the cleats?

Good question. When we towed two on Saturday, I attempted to use the two eyes that you use to strap the boat to the trailer, however on one side the rope would hit the ladder and I was afraid it would damage it. So I ended up using the eye on the right side of the boat and the center point that you normally ski from. It seemed to work pretty well.

I use my wakeboard pylon to pull two tubes. Both hook up at the same point.

doesn't show both tubes, just one, but some videos showing pulling a tube with my pylon.

When we pull 2 tubes I hook both to my transom mount in the middle. However, I loop them from each side, which serves to keep the ropes separated surprisingly well. Where it goes from there depends on the riders.

Umm....Ever have a tube play submarine? I think with that pole that high, it makes a pretty slick lever to capsize your boat...A Ski-er can let go if they become a huge drag, a tube won't...

I dunno if can actually happen, but I'd not pull a tube from that height!

How could it POSSIBLEY happen? Seems completely impossible to me.

When I was younger we'd connect them both to the same point, if they're separated then you won't have as many great collisions. I've seen something like 6 tubes connected to my neighbor's Malibu, but that seems like too many for any fun.

I pull 3 with 2 singles on the outside and a double in the middle, all tied with 2-man tube ropes to tower. Works great for tube wars.

We usually use another boat or 2 to "stir the cauldron" during Full Contact Tubing. Let them stir up and make big waves then the tubing boat slings the tubers through it. Joy, Fun and carnage usually ensue!

Re: How to pull two tubes at once...UPDATE

Well, we tried it for the first time yesterday. With the tubes each tied to a cleat, there was too much seperation. Also, when we would corner, the tubes would stagger front and back....as dad, that made me nervous. So next time, I think I'll tie both to the center.
Also, our new tube likes to submarine at slow speeds....this caught us off guard, because our original tube NEVER has done that. What's the best way to stop the tube from diving under water?

Make sure it is fully inflated, we go by the rule of if you can stand on it on dry land and its not moving much then you are good to go.

It WAS fully inflated!!! This new tube is really slim, and the mounting point is very low in the water, so I think the combination allows water to start coming over the top of the tube as we start off. I was actually thinking of running the tube upside down to try and stop it (it is the type of tube without a hole in the middle). Only problem with that is then: no grab handles!

We have a tube that tends to submarine too. I've found that a combination of having the rider lean back on the tube and the boat driver giving a faster start helps get the tube on plane faster, thus avoiding submarining.

I use a ski pylon w/ two equal ropes. The tubes stay on each side of the wake but I can swing them into eachother when cutting it back and forth. You can really swing a tube w/ this type of ski pylon. Ive had them allmost all the way to the side of the boat. Not kids, just crazy friends that are giving the more signal all the time. The ropes stay just above my outboard and the angle keeps the front of the tubes from going under water.

Re: How to pull two tubes at once

We did this for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Some boaters next to us on the beach let take their matching O'brien Le Tubes out. Equal length ropes tied to the ski ring worked great. My wife said it was the funnest time she's had being pulled behind the boat so now I'm shopping for matching tubes. I can't wait to take my crazy friends out and let them have at it.
