as long as the boat cover is tied down tight I rarely have a problem with one falling over and if one does it's no big deal to prop it up again. Also, I'm in southern Calif where we only get nasty weather a few times during our "winter".

The problem with poles is they tend to fall over with wind or weight of water. I used 2" ABS to hold the poles and toilet closet flanges as bases glued into a few feet of the 2" ABS. Cheap $$$. Never thought of using Frisbees on top, great idea. Mine fit snug into grommets in the cover.

Rub it in why don't you. We are the north shore of Lake Erie. I'm almost 64 and can drive a golf ball 300 plus yards, with the offshore "Breeze". Going the other way I might get the ball to the Ladies T. I've come home and found the patio table 6' up into a Spruce tree 20' from where it sat. SoCal, OK.

I have a bowrider & HAD the same problem, both fore & aft. I tried the expensive telescopic monopoles with rubber cups at both ends sold for the purpose but found any wind & they topple over. The rubber cups also create friction & end up fraying the material as well.
My solution was using standard aluminium camera tripods, cheap from Amazon (like £8/$10). They don't fall over & are easy to collapse & store. Remove the top section & you should end up with a stud. Attach anything that's rounded & smooth. I happened to have some half moon plastic feet from a sofa but anything similar will do.
They survive gales & torrential rain but snow would be more of a problem. Fortunately I live in Anglesey, North Wales so snow is a rarity.
