Do you have a tachometer installed? If not, you won't have any idea of the results.

I would start by raising the motor up higher by an inch or so and see what the results are (this assumes your engine is running at the proper max RPM). Motors are often rigged too deep which causes excessive drag. See what varying the kickout does to rpm and top speed. If, after getting the motor at the proper height (verified by the AV plate being dry @ WOT), experiment with different pitch props.
