How to hook up my fuel line to gas tank

Please see the attached photos. Am I missing a part? How do I attach the fuel line securely to the fuel tank???

Tank should have a fitting on it. like in the photo below.

Looks like you have the fitting on the tank, but they put a metal hose barb in the fitting.

You need to remove that metal hose barb and screw the fitting with white sealant on it into the tank . Then you can use the quick disconnect fitting that came on the hose.

Thanks for your response.....I am a REAL novice...where do I buy the fitting you show in the picture? Can you give me a link to someplace online I could buy it, and does it have a special name? And you talked about white sealant. What is that and where do I get it? Do I have to be careful not to let any get into the gas tank? (Again, I am really new at this. )

Is the metal hose barb the thing that is sticking up that looks like a needle you'd blow a basketball up with? When I filled the tank, gas came spurting out of that barb, even though I only filled the 6 gallon tank with 5 gallons of ethanol free gas. To remove the barb, I loosen that big nut???

Sorry for so many questions....just want to do it right so I can get my motor running....THANKS so much!!!

Tommy, the fitting you need looks to be in the center picture. it is already wrapped with teflon tape. So, if the hose barb on your tank unscrews, see if the fitting with the teflon tape will screw in.
