How to get Navionics on a large screen at the Helm

Bought a 2000 Formula boat that comes with an old Ray Marine plotter that needs to be replaced. I think the Navionics phone app is amazing in detail and accuracy. I suspect I could buy a slightly used tablet and somehow mount it where the Ray Marine unit is now. I would do this instead of spending ridiculous money on a new Garmin type GPS that I assume can't show me a Navionics display.

Has anyone done something similar? How has it worked out? Is the screen bright enough in direct sunlight?

You can get Navionics on Garmin. Garmin bought Navionics not too long ago.
Also Lowrance supports Navionics. I've been using a Lowrance GPS for the last 5 years along with a Navionics subscription to keep the charts up to date. I love the sonar cartography.

check your tablet if it is readable in direct sunlight. many are not and will shut-down due to overheat.
