Hi,

I have an 1977 18' Starcarft bowrider boat with a leak.

Any tips on finding the leak and what materials to use to patch the leak?

Complete newbie in this department. Looked at the FAQ, but found nothing on this.

Thanks for any info.

Re: How to find / repair leak on aluminum boat

You probably have a rivet or two that may need to be tightened or replaced........

Your seams could be letting water in.....

You might have a hole, a tear, or a spot that is worn through.....

The best solution is to identify the leaking spot, take action and then apply gluvit to the inside (and sometimes the outside) of the leaking area. Gluvit applied to future areas such as seams and rivets is a pro-active approach.

If you use the search function and type in gluvit..... you will become very familiar with it.
