I have a Mercury outboard (1F75412CD) and I accidentally broke the wire. The metal tip at the end connection to the ignition coil fell off and I tried to getting it back on but it did not work and the boat made no noise when i was trying to start it.. I am trying to find a replacement preferably by this weekend.

The OEM part number is 804272A1, I went to autozone and advance auto parts but neither of them were able to help me. I can't find a version of the oem wire. I found this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000S2SRXC which i thought might work but i'm not too sure.

Are there any recommendations on what to do here? How I can find one.

I'd be open to making my own if i could find everything i need in time if it would be best

Outboard motor spark plug wires usually have stranded stainless steel conductors. You can often buy them on the web. You should be able to make them up, if necessary.

What year and HP is the motor?

OK, the web says your motor was made by Yamaha, and the wires are avail from them or Sierra. Yamaha 18-8847-1 avail from Sierra

With the reliability of the internet, You might take one of your spark plug wires and visit a Yamaha dealer and see if that is true.

If the length is good and the conductor is stainless steel, and the terminals and length match, it should work.

I am surprised that Merc did not make the wires available. They are required to carry parts for 20 years, which your motor is that old. There are parts available for a lot older Merc motors than yours. Maybe it is that it was made by Yammie, caused them to stop part availability? It is a guess

Just got off the phone with a Yamaha dealer. He told me that each one is cylinder specific - which is not something i was aware of

I was able to get a part number and ordered from a dealer a state south of me.

For anyone finding this thread in the future - the model number from cylinder 4 to the top ignition coil is

67F-82344-00-00
