How to detach crankcase on 1976 25HP Johnson

Hello,

I have problem with disassembling my 1976 25 HP Sea Horse (model#25R76E).

I can not detach crankcase from the head. I removed 2 pins and all the screws and it looks like it is held just by sealant. I tried to tap with wood block and heavy hammer and it did not work. I am afraid to put to much effort and break it.

Is there any trick?

Did you get all the bolts? There are eight (I think) small bolts around the perimeter, and six larger ones in a rectangle on either side of the crankshaft (some might be studded, I can't recall).

Once they're all out I usually do the wood block thing...

There are only seven hex bolts. Original repair manual also says 7.
I tried hit on crancshaft with hammer with wood block but it did not work.
I am afraid to beak it.
