I have made lots of great trips in the 8 years I have had mine, not nearly at the pace you are going though; but we had ice on our lakes when your season started...
My kids have grown up substantially since I got mine and this is the first year we are semi-empty nesters (one kid in college, the other spends many weekends away). My wife and I are taking advantage of that this weekend and towing the boat 3.5 hours away to Lake George for the weekend.
Living in NH, I can't imagine having a boat that is slipped. If it were in salt water, it would have to be north of Cap Cod and the swimming would suck due to the cold water, if it were in a lake (even a big one), I would feel way too limited.
