Last time I went fishing this question popped into my head and made me curious.
How many of you guys actually hold paper to your boat and how many have loans, I am thinking it will work out to about 70% loan and 30% own.
I am in the owner group, got my '80 16' Sea Nymph with an '81 50 evinrude for $1750 probably 9 years ago and paid cash for it.
I work for a boat company so getting parts isn't hard and I have rebuilt it twice now in 9 years, the first time was in weekend bits, the last it was stripped to the keel and rebuilt and I repainted it the next year so all but the hull and engine are no more than 3 years old.
Just curious.
