How do you repair a skeg on a composite volvo-penta outdrive?

I have a volvo-penta composite outdrive and the skeg is completely broken off, is there any way to repair or do I need to replace the whole outdrive?

I put one on my dp last year. It hasn't come off. It just glues on. The glue is a rubber that basically acts like a bumper for your lower unit. I'm sure it is alot cheaper than a replacement, and if you hit something again, It will probably just break of again, and not take the rest of the lower unit like a bolted on replacement.

Here is a replacement skegg made of carbon fiber. Don't know if it would work for you but they do list some VP models:

You have the Volvo XDP outdrive, none of the above links cover that outdrive. I don't know of any products to replace it.

Ayuh,... So what are they actually made of Don,..?? have you seen 1 yet,..??

If it's of most any of the composite housing stuff I've seen,...
It's reasonably concievable that it can be repaired with an Epoxy...

It's the composite material over aluminum. The skeg is also a lot thicker than your normal Alpha, Volvo, or OMC skeg.

Although its probably not a great idea the skeg was broken at least 2/3 off my boat when I bought it and after running it a few times I can't even notice that its not there. I know it helps protect the prop and I am getting it welded back on this winter I'm just sayin you could run without it over spending a gazillion dollars fixing it.

The drive's shell is made of vinyl ester composite, and can be repaired with fiberglass resin, like your boat's fiberglass....

Replacing a whole skeg may take a professional job, but it should be doable.
