How do you detail your outboard?

I have some dirt and general engine grime built up on my engine block and wiring that I would like to get removed. What is the best way to clean all of this off without frying any electronics or messing anything up? Motor is a '94 60 HP Johnson.

I used WD and a rag

Try some Super Clean or Purple Power and a garden hose. Then you can rag it down however you need...
