I have a 500 gph automatic pump on my boat right now. works great but since i have a middle beam the pump is on the starboard side and only pumps that side. how can i make it pump both sides or should i get another pump for the other side too?

There is a slim chance you could get some of the water with one pump,
A piece of 3/8" or 1/2" id hose running over the hump right up against the intake of the pump
as the pump lowers the water the suction may start a little siphon. You might put a large piece of hose on the end at the pump and fit it to the housing.Pump will need to be in the lowest part
and far end of hose slightly higher if you hope to siphon.

Since you have work to do on your boat......drill a hole or a few through so the water can get past the wood. Now when you do that those drilled holes need to be coated with a sealer so you do not cause places where it it rot.

I absolutely would not drill any holes. The tinyest hole missed will absolutely turn to rot over time.
If you want to get rid of water on the other side put in another pump with its own through hull fitting. It will double your pump capacity and keep the integrity of the hull.
