How do i remove the OMC Cobra lower shift cable after i ramoved the out drive ?

OMC cobra shifting problems

I have the out drive off, and the gimbal bearing out ,How do I change the lower shift cable

Before you do anything I suggest you read this site:

and buy a factory manual.

Changing the cable is easy. Adjusting it is the difficult part. If you don't adjust it correctly, you will likely damage your dog clutch.

Replacing the cable is easy. Adjusting the cable is a nightmare. Better off paying someone to replace the cable and adjust it while you have the drive off. Boat shops make it sound like removing the drive is a lot of work so they can charge a ton!

Not true if you can follow instructions and buy the right tools it is not bad if I can do anybody can.
