Thanks to some of you, I have decided to disable the oil injection in my 1998 Mercury 150 XL. What is the best way to do this? I'd appreciate any and all comments.
Thanks

------------------
David Rochford
david@zesco.com

Plug the oil tank, pull the oil pump and low oil sender wires and tape-up the connectors. Run mixed, you'll motor will last longer.

Can I just plug the output line from the oil pump or should I plug the input line to the oil pump? Either way, the oil pump is turning all the time and not accomplishing anything. Is there a way to remove the oil pump and cover up properly?

On some older Merc engines when you removed the pump and drive shaft, this left a brass bushing inside the engine, and needed a dummy shaft to hold this bushing in place. I would call Merc and ask them .
