How do I clean a carb?

My '97 60 hp Johnson isn't running well and I'd like to get in and clean out the carb. But...I don't know what I'm doing. Does anybody have a link that can step a beginner through this process? I like trying new things but have zero experience with it; I'm not sure I can even find the carb. If there's any patient teachers out there, I'd really appreciate some help!

Your first step should be to get a manual.

Get somebody who knows what they are doing because you can mess up or miss something easy maybe ask them to show you? one wrong adjustment can leave you with poor resutls and miss diagnosis.

check ebay for a manual, then do a search on here, theres a video link that shows you the steps

Remove the air silencer cover, you'll be looking at the throats of your three carburetors. It's not difficult but I wouldn't want to try it without a manual. what led you to conclude that a carb rebuild is indicated?
