Re: How come no one trolls in the south

I just went with a bud for my first trip trout fishing on the Chatahoochee River just north of Atlanta. We trolled up river to get where we were going to fish. I caught 3 before we got a 1/4 mile from the ramp. Rapala CD5. We probably caught 20 fish between us mostly on the crankbaits but also using some 3" "trout worms" in red or white. Scott also used a Mepps or Panther Martin , etc spinner.

Man, those trout really fight. I also caught a perch. All released.

I really hope your kidding. I have caught 10 times the fish on my light tackle as I have trolling.

Trolling really doesnt take any kind of finesse. Anyone can troll. Just throw your bait behind the boat and drag it, and hopefully your will pull it across a fish. Casting takes real talent and is alot more work.
