All depends on what motor you have. What brand? What model?
Many times the actual year of the motor doesn't matter AT ALL. For value purposes, it's more the shape the motor is in and how well it's been taken care of. For a lot of parts and maintenance, especially for Tohatsu, the actual model number is much more important and the year is irrelevant (to quote another member).
