Sounds yummy. Anybody know?
Tastes a little like baby giraffe, if you've ever had that. Though, they're not as common just out there running around.

I saw a baby giraffe run across the road saturday night. Of course my designated driver says he didnt, but I swear it did.

I don't agree with the leaving it in the trap for5 days, however if its your cat, it should stay in your house.

My neighbors have a cat that they used to let run free, I used to find paw prints on my hood and signs of the cat under my truck in the driveway apparently trying to stay warm. I won't assume your neighbors motives, but will say buffing scratches out of my hood, and cleaning up cat scat got really old very quick.

I agree 100%. I don't understand why people think it's ok for their cats to roam free and destroy and spray other peoples property. Keep your cats in your house I don't want them. As far as not being fed that's just not right but had you retained control of YOUR pet it would not have happened.

BTW Apply this rule to all domesticated animals not just cats. Even if you live in the woods these are still your pets not mine.

Re: How angry would you be?

We have lost cats before to coyotes and last wendsday our cat went missing.
She always comes in for breakfast or a scratch around 10-11 am so when she did not show up I got worried. went out and called her, nothing (she comes when you call).
So when she did not show up that night and thursday we felt the worst had happened.

Sunday afternoon, the wifes walking the fenceline and discovers about 30 feet into the neighbours yard a live trap with our cat in it, dehydrated and starving!!!!!!!

She had been in there for 5 and a half days without food and water.

At this point I will not say what I wanted to do, but thing could have got ugly fast.

We have their cows, horses, turkeys, dogs, cats, kids all coming into our yard, so when this kinda crap happens,
"I GET A LITTLE PIZZED OFF"

Rant over

I can certainly understand the anger that stems from the inhumane treatment of any animal, however I feel that you as the owner of your pet must assume the responsibility for safeguarding your pet. It's very unfortunate (possibly criminal) that your cat was caught in a trap and suffered for 5 days, but you allowed it to roam from your property onto your neighbors property where it was trapped.

I've been in a situation where I was forced to repeatedly trap my neighbors cats (6 of them) and deliver them to the local pound. They had made my gardens their personal litterbox and "talks" with the neighbor got me nowhere. I didn't permit my dog to roam free in the neighborhood and crap on others yards and I don't appreciate cats coming into my gardens and leaving a stinking mess behind.

Please, if you love your pets, keep them safe at home and don't blame others if misfortune falls upon them when they are permitted to roam free.

While I understand how you feel...hope the cat is okay now...I am the type of person that is straight forward...however I also like to get "even" ....I would simply invite the neighbors over for a BBQ....and I would not mention that it would be one of the neighbors cows I would be cooking....:D

Just saying...there is more than one way to skin a cat... :D

I'll bet if you check the laws on trapping you will find they are to be checked daily.

Re: How angry would you be?

What if you are just using it to catch the critters and dump the trap in a bucket of water afterwards? Those type of traps are used around here to catch squirrels and it definitely isn't so that they can be relocated.

The trap should still be checked daily

Re: How angry would you be?

Rbh I applaud you for your self control.

I am fortunate enough to have good neighbors however, if a situation like that happened here.......... I would be more concerned about my wife's temper (which would fuel mine) and some very unprofessional things would happen. It would be ugly.

Thankfully he used a hava-a-heart and not a killer trap.

I would talk with them since those traps are not self setting and ask the reason for what he was trapping......... at the same time I would restrict my animals too.

Since my home is SO CLOSE to a 50 MPH road (recently repaved to make it a speedway ) we restrict all of our 5 pets.

I am not a random killing person so I do understand. The only animals that meet with peril here are red squirrels since they do damage.

I'm sure your neighbor violated animal cruelty laws.

I do think it would be best to avoid a feud.

I would keep a lookout for more traps and make the traps "disappear" if and whenever I found another one.
