OK my dumb fault. I was backing the boat up on the trailer at night and i did not see the tree. Crunch. I did not damage the fiberglass hull but i did do a good job at breaking all of the gel coat. Since the spider cracks go a few inches and this is below the water line it has me concern as to the best way to fix this. Hull1.JPGHull2.JPGHull3.JPGHull4.jpg

No, you damaged the hull . . . It can be seen in the pictures. Gel coat will have to come off to do the proper repairs. (sorry)

Yep, the hull is damaged. Back off a bit so we can see exactly where this is. All the cracked gelcoat will need to be ground off as tpenfield has stated. Depending on what you find after the grinding and the location will dictate what the exact repairs will be.

Um.. its the port side transom ...

Your gonna have to grind off all the gel and probably the first and second layer of glass to layup a few layers of mat ( CSM ) and polyester resin.

The biggest deal is what you final fair is gonna be. Red is kinda transparent with gel ( unless you make it yourself ).

You dont want to fair with putty..and seeing as your gonna get the Red anyways, do your final fair with your red gelcoat ( mixed with cabosil ).

What year/make/mod do you have.. I can probably get you a Spectrum color # for it..

Its a glass and spray gel repair ..

Simple..but its red ..you have to do things right the first time.

YD.
