If Sadaam is told,"You are free to go, case dismissed", What do y'all think will become of him?

Re: How about a dismissal (poll)

I haven't voted yet. Need some help. I would like to vote for #1, but that assumes that he would actually walk out unprotected, which I don't think is likely. Hmmmmm . . Assuming that the case was dismissed (which I think was the premise) I think he would get some protection, then screw up down the trail and get whacked.

I really do wonder if he doesn't have enough power of intimidation to survive. But when I told an Iraqi who I know that Saddam had been captured, he said "I hope they keeeel heeem."

Voted but my opinion was not listed. He would be given political assailum (sp) in France, or some other Muslim country. Only part of the people hate him, he still has a strong backing of many
Muslims in the world.

I once read somewhere that Sadaam is very much hated by the leading powers in the muslim world, though many of their subjects may very well sympathize with him.
This was possibly one of the reasons why him and his sons did not seek asylum when given the opportunity to do so.
Personally i think that Sadaam was too insular and boneheaded to have grasped the urgency of his situation.

Isn't he personally an atheist? Infidel?

Infidel by past actions for sure. It's been reported he was a drinker and a womenizer.(sp)

"Infidel" That's the word that escaped me, you're quite right, both moderate muslims and radical Islamists do regard Sadaam as an infidel.

Hell, Ramsey Clark would be glad to open his home for him, I voted that he would come to the US, and live with the do-gooder liberals.

Toss him to the streets, but make sure everyone know it before you do.

They had a similar situation in south florida back in the early 80's involving a drug lord. He was a real @ss during the trial knowing that in prison, he could still operate and control his empire. I forget the judge, but he was found guilty and instead of sentencing him to life behind bars, the judge smiled and gave him full parole. Said he needed to live in the world he created. The news said he was outraged and in tears as he was lead away. Less than 24 hours later they found his body, killed by fellow peers. Justice served, Taxpayer Expense = $0.00.

Nav

I didnt vote
But if we were still there, I would hope for number 1.
If he were to get out after we are gone? That could be scarey.

Sounds like torture to me. Any of the choices. The US is hell no free health care, no cable or AC in the spider hole so that is hell, and his people would tear him apart.

All torture to some.

I hate to consider #3 but I would not be surprised, and certainly think it more than possible. I suspect that #1 would be most likely, if there was enough notice of the verdict.
