I recently bought a 2002 Charger bass boat with a 200 HP Yamaha VMAX. I had a Hot Foot installed. It is my understanding that the boat should reach speeds between 65-70 mph. I have not been able to get the boat to go much over 50mph and seems to take forever to get out of the hole and to get up to speed. I know that this is one of the heavier boats in the bass boat field but I believe it should have a better hole shot and quicker acceleration. I am thinking that the Hot Foot wasn't installed entirely correct. Is there anything I can do myself to fix the issue. Is there and issue at all? Or is this typical. There is a bolt behind the hot foot peddle that appears to stop the peddle from going down further. Can this be screwed down a bit more to get the peddle to give more acceleration? Does the cable then need to be adjusted? Should I just take the boat back to the dealer and see if they can do something? I'm in a quandry. Thanks for all help in advance.

If you recently bought it, yes, i'd take it back to the dealer. After all, that's why you paid a bit more: after sale service.
