Hose leak at trim pump oil reservoir

I have an alpha 1 gen 1 and recently noticed that oil was leaking where the hose goes into the trim pump oil reservoir. I tried tightening it slightly (it already felt pretty tight) but still noticed that oil was leaking from it. Are there seals on the ends of these hoses that need to be replaced and can be purchased? I'm hopeful that I don't need to replace the hose entirely.

Thank yall

Not uncommon. A kit is available to re-seal the pump hose connections.

The hose ends are a flared fitting, there are no seals between the hose ends and the pump/manifold at the bottom of the transom assy.

I've never seen/heard of a kit to replace any non existent seals. The only fix is to replace faulty fittings on the hose end/trimp pump or the entire hose assy.

When replacing the hose it's best to replace both hoses (black and gray) at the same time

My bad... I was on a trim tab pump thought process.

You are correct in that the mercruiser trim pump has a solid body that has the fittings machined into it.

Wondering if he is sure it is at the fittings and not some other part of the pump seeping oil and looking like it is the hose(s), like the dipstick or the motor end o-ring.. Of all the Mercruisers I have had, never had one of the hoses leak at the fitting, but am sure it is possible.

Ayuh,..... If o-ring #6 leaks, it'll be in that area,....
Might need to snug up screw #10, or the tank could be cracked,.....

I only noticed the oil coming from the hose that is closest to sterndrive (I believe that's the black hose. It appeared that it was coming directly from where the hose goes into the trim pump reservoir. I will try to watch it while someone runs the trim to be sure this weekend to confirm though.

If all you did was try to tighten it you should remove the hose fitting from the pump and clean the threads on the fitting and the receptacle/seat in the pump, reattach and test. If it still leaks the best repair option is to replace the hose(s)

May have accumulated crud on flair. Sand or clean with 400 wet or dry sandpaper. Use sealer incase aluminum threads may have become cracked.

Is there a specific sealer I should use?
Scott is mostly correct unless threads are leaking. Most of the time they don't. Sometimes fatigue or dissimilar metals will cause issues. I always use Teflon or liquid Teflon (sparingly). (IF I CANNOT STOP LEAK AND LAST RESORT)
