horse power

Hello I need advise on the max hp you should put on a too..I do not know the max rating for my pontoon,I do know max persons is 17.

We'll need some more info to be of any real help. I know of 500+ bhp toons, but that doesn't mean nuttin' without knowing a lot more about yours.

The boat is 1984 harris float boat,24 foot with 24 inch toons,
any help would be good.

Harris has been gone for quite a while so calling them is out of the question.

In '84 150 was a big engine and doubt many toons had anything that big on them, probably more in the 50-70 range but with the limited information it is really hard to say.

Is it possible to get a picture of the motor pan up?

the area where the motor mounts, the pan is the part under the boat, that protects the motor.

A 25 foot Misty Harbor is rated for a 150 HP engine max and is also rated for 17 people.

My family always had Harris Flote Boats growing up. This was back in the early 60's to early 80's. We always had the 26' model. If I recall correctly, the largest engine we ever had on one was a 88. I think they would take something a little larger though.

Somewhere along the line, we switched to JC toons. Would love to have a Bennington but they're just not in the budget with all the other boats and toys.
