The downtown area is going crazy right now. Lots of police sirens, etc. It was about 1/2 mile from my office. Much of the public transportation has been shut down in the immediate area. So, some folks are having to get home by other means.

We had 4 people from our office in the marathon, they are all OK. News reports are saying that 2 people died and about 28 injured.

Injury rate has gone into the 50+ number as of 5:45 PM. My niece was at the finish line waiting for her boyfriend to finish the marathon. As luck would have it, she was inside a nearby building when it happened, and the BF hadn't reached the finish line yet.

Appears that area cell service was cut immediately after the blasts, and it took a couple hours to get in touch with her. Tense moments there.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims.

prayers go out to all.JOLIN cell service was cut on purpose as thats actually a favorite way for nuts to set off bombs.they were worried that somebody might of accidently set off something while using their cell.hope everybody that was unfortunate enough to have gotten seriously hurt pulls through.

Guys, we are all well aware of the implications regarding this horrible event. We are just not going to have the raw emotions here. I am sorry. Trust me I understand the anger and frustration, but we have to find other places to release it. Thanks.

From your Northern Neighbour.....many heartfelt condolences guys.
Really sorry to hear about this on the news, pretty senseless to say the least.
Violence is a real drag and creates a long, bad hangover, it seems.
Hopefully justice prevails and tomorrows a better day.
Hang in there and do your best to move on and not let paranoia get you.

Looks like suspect #1 is dead.
Suspect #2 still on the loose.


Here is a very clear photo that was not released by the FBI.
Appears to show both suspects fleeing the second bomb blast.

Crazy night in Boston last night . . . each day this week, as I commute into Boston for work, there have been more and more police and military presence. Yesterday there were armed national guard at the train station . . . something I have not seen in the 3-4 years of working in Boston.

The news accounts so far are confusing, as the incidents started out on the MIT campus (Cambridge, MA) and proceeded into the nearby area of Watertown, MA

Just checking on the local news this morning, commuter rail service has been suspended. looks like I won't be able to get to work !?!?! All of the MBTA (public transportation) is suspended at this point. . .

People are being asked to stay in their homes and not answer the door

My office has just announce that it is closed for the day. Boston businesses are being asked to close. People are being asked to stay in their homes.

I was up all night monitoring Boston PD, Proud of my East Coast Brothers, and very Happy everyone here is safe for now but beware this is far from over.
