Honda 9.9 exhaust diverter?

The exhaust normally goes out through the prop...except when in reverse...anyone know anything about how this is controlled?

It still goes through the hub. At close to idle speed it's going to come out the above water exhaust, but give it enough throttle and it goes right out the middle of the prop like it does in forward, and gets sucked through the prop and blown under the boat with the water.

It seems that my exhaust is coming out the small holes above the stabilizer at all speeds

Yes some will come out there, but when you give it enough throttle it will come out the center of the prop too.

I removed the propeller a while back to see how the exhaust was able to exit ,,,I could not find a passage way for the gas...how does this happen?

Are you sure yours looks like the picture I posted above? Can you post pictures of your engine and lower unit?
