I currently have a 1999 honda four stoke outboard.. I was told that the only difference between the 75 and 90 are the carbs. Is this the case? I want to make mine a 90. I talked to the local honda dealer and he said that was the info that a top dog at honda told him.. Is this the case? Also, does $1000 sound about right to replace and upgade the 75 to the 90?
Thanks guys.

Hi Pete,
If the cam is the same part number and the valves the same then you can.
As far as the cost,is it worth it to you?
You will also need the next larger prop to hold the RPMs down. It may change your tourqe
curve some.If the motor was made as a 90 and detuned to a 75 it will be snappy when given to chance to breath.
...good luck...corm

You will void your warranty. Alot of trouble for 15 horses. I would try a high end SS prop.
