We saw these at the Atlantic City Boat Show and wanted one. Aaannd since they're over $1,000 (could be a lot more), I decided to try and make one. I'm putting a gimble in the curve so you can sit on it and stand behind it and fight a fish. I'm making a cushion to button on top too. There will also be a rail that raps around most of it so you can hang on to it. I think it looks pretty good so far. I have stain, then I have three coats of epoxy, and it's sanded between coats. I don't like that the finish is still a little wavy, any suggestions on how to get it perfectly glossy and smooth? Also what can I use for for a pedestal? I want it to be removeable.

So much for that... I took it down with us when we painted our boat, and I guess it was too cold for the epoxy because it wasn't completely dry so everything that touched stuck:mad:
