I will explain, I live on the river in a moderately priced home/cabin that is my retirement. LLC property management fat cats are buying the places and knocking them down and then build rental purposed dwellings . If I had an HOA i suspect this kind of activity would not exist.

Depending on your position and involvement, lake associations can be just as bad as HOAs if not held in check. When I first moved here I went to the lake association meeting to donate and give them a listen. They had a list of "rules" they wanted to pass for using the lake. I explained legal precedent and unable to usurp state laws, I also pointed out the lake has a public landing so any rules that they passed would only effect the people that pay taxes to live on the lake.

Close to 40 yrs ago, I had a Cop trying to tell me I had to obey some Launching Restriction at a Campground about a 1/2 mile from our Lot. I told him to Eff Off, as the County had no Legal Ability to restrict Boating, that it was strictly Federal Jurisdiction(this is in Canada). I also showed the Swine that I could Launch off our Property, and then told him to get the Eff off of our Property

ROFL! Nice. I've seen a few things done like this due to HOA issues. I love it when people get clever like this and ride the edge of the HOA rules. It's one of the best cat-n-mouse, Tom and Jerry things to do!

Personally I'd rather live under a bridge than in an HOA any day! :)

I get it.. some people like them for whatever reason, but not me. Too many rules and that simply isn't 'living'.

Thanks for the vid!
