Re: Hillary at her best

DJ, So everyone at your church is a stand up Christian, they all believe just as you do, they are all right wing staunch Republicans, believe we can win the war in Iraq, etc, etc. I doubt it very seriously and bet some of them are left wing pukes you so despise.

You may be right. We are just people. And, people are people. Yet we all have one true belief, otherwise we wouldn't be there. I'll leave you to figure oiut what that belief is. I'm sure you'll come up with many.

Plus, I would never label anyone as a "puke".

I'm checking out, for a few days. I've got to make some EVIL money.

txs, I surprised that one as intelligent as yourself needs to have this explained.

"Conservative" means favoring the status quo, and "liberal" means favoring change.

Whatever the issues your particular denomination is debating, your church is liberal if it wants to change and conservative if it doesn't. Religious doctrine or administrative matters, either one. Might be whether to allow women to become ministers, or it might be whether to require Board of Trustees approval to purchase real estate.

I would also like to point out one more thing:
That's two sole purposes. Worship the Lord and do well for the community. And fulfill the religious needs of its members. Make that three. Three sole purposes.

Really I thought conservative was to maintain the original belief documtent or philosophy, not necessarily what it is presently. If not then the people wishing to overthrow Roe vs. Wade would be the liberals and gosh you could really start one heck of a fight with that. I do understand what you say, I think.

I would disagree, and here is why. In serving/worshipping the Lord, one would be required to do as he did, and that would include doing well for our fellow man (communities).

I think it is one in the same.

Don't forget that she apologized for "a country that turned it's back on you"...... where does she get off making an apology like that.

I just don't like her methods, not one bit.

Are you really implying that a politician can't speak in church due to the seperation of church and state? Or is it just OK for baby bush to speak "church" while in a government role?
I'm not trying to troll but I really don't understand your ignorance to the fact that people speak in church. Politicians attend church and a therefore speak in church. Just like idiot bush will only speak in front of carefully assembled sympathizers, Hillary did similar, not same but similar. She spoke to a group of people who were friendly to her position, however she did not handpick the attendees of her adress.
DJ, we normally disagree, but I generally respect you because you don't just follow the crowd, you have reasons for why you feel/believe as you do, but this bewilders me.

As I understand from my history classes plantations were ruled by the owner or Master, and everyone else was a slave, forego the race issue here and you will see the comparison. The way the redumblican party has behaved in the last 5 years, bush has been the master and the rest of the party has been the slave. And if you are honest you can't disagree. I think the choice of comparisons was very poor, but I don't think it was inaccurate. There have been a few dissenters but when the large majority of legislation and congressional issues have been decided along party lines, baby bush says, and the "slaves" do. Or in politically correct terms, the president asks and the legislature gives it to him.

Now that the comment has been explained, I hope Billary Clinton does not run for President. I think that would be a redumblican wet dream, just like Kerry in '04.

No matter what, I don't think the next presidency could be any worse than the current, so I will gladly vote in '08 for a new president, a president who I think will care about the country, not the corporations and the wealthy, regardless of their party affiliation.

DLM,

Are you suggesting that the use of the word "Plantation" in this speech at this church with this audience was a coincidence? Puuuuuuhhhhllllllleeeeeeeease . .

This was absolute, unashamed race baiting. Give your argument half a chance by at least admitting that.

Since when haven't issues been more or less decided along party lines?

Isn't the President charged with running our country?

What's wrong with him giving a direction to the congress, then allowing those elected officials make their own decisions?

Maybe they follow *gasp* the President *gasp* because they *gasp* agree with him !!!!!!!!!!

WOW, all you non-New Yorkers are sure "hotted up" about our little carpetbagging Senator! You should be subjected to the almost daily tripe that her "posse" puts into NY media.

She is an evil woman who appears to have no scruples in the arena of politics (not a discriminating characteristic, I'm afraid....).

Watch out for her in the run up to the 2008 election. She will do her chamelion thing on a daily basis while seeking the big enchilada.

The woman has bad hair and fat thighs, too....

I have avoided this one, but I do have one thing to say:

It's time for a third party. The republicans are completely incompetent, and the dems are idiotic and seem bent on self destruction.

It's depressing.

Re: Hillary at her best

Let's see, whenever a PREIST or MINISTER IN THEIR OWN CHURCH, points out what candidate has the SAME BELIEFS as the Church....that is wrong and the church should be shut down and it's tax exempt status revoked. Yet an idiot like Hillary Clinton can say whatever she wants in a church and that is just fine....BULL!!!
DLM, just remember what you wrote, when the subject comes up about churches losing their status because they endorse a candidate that you do not believe in.... you can't have it both ways!

Which one of the Clintons' was a native, or was Arkansas just the soft underbelly of the nation? Don't chastise me for asking, remember I have my head in the sand. :D What possesed the New York electorate that put her in office? A decision is not good or bad until it is made, and then it is too late. :D
