Twin 2001 150ho 60deg looper OIS motors (carb). NOT new to me and run great, I maintain them well.
Figured it was time to swap all 12 warping and surface cracked plastic Carb bowls. Ran Great prior (tested fully prior). Had good smooth 650 idles, quickstart working fine.
After carb bowls:
1 motor does the usual quickstart till warm, then drops a bit too low rpm...NOT SUPER CONCERNED WITH THIS ONE JUST YET.
2ND motor However, starts and immediately goes to almost 1600, 1700...but smooth, no sputtering(doesnt seem like its in quickstart advance) This im concerned with. I waited till warm and doesnt drop rpm much. I believe an rpm above 1100 disables quickstart?
Not the 1st time ive done carb bowls...I place 1 smaller bolt in each carb location when removed to be sure I keep the throttle plate/manifold tight to block to avoid Oring/gasket issues there. Was real careful with carb Orings too.
These were always timed well. Im not going to mess with any timing since they ran so well prior to Bowl swaps.
Thoughts till I get my Manual in?? Since that fast idle is so smooth, Im thinking I somehow knocked the throttle or linkage and its not coming home? Got dark so I have to relook later.
