I go once every 2 weeks, I'm also with Landscaping Wiz 808 on this one. Cost me 9 bucks + tip. Beats the heck outta 70 bucks my wife spends once a month.

I used to use a traditional barber who was very good. The only problem was everyone knew he was very good. He would be so crowded it could take 2+ hours for a regular haircut. That was just too long to wait. I'm not a doctor, but I can tell when I'm losing my patience!

Purchased an electric hair trimmer kit from WallyWorld and have been cutting my own with a #1 clipper guard for 6+ years. That is until November 2008. Wife wanted to see what it would look like longer, have not cut it yet. Sorta interested to see what 1 year without cutting looks like.

The way mine has been falling out, I might not need a barber before too long.

I have heard that bald is beautiful,,,,,,apparently they haven't seen the bumps and craters on my irregular shaped head ..........SS

I have my OL clip it once a month during the warm months. I tend to let it get fuzzy during the winter months.

I go to the German barbershop shop down the street for their 'special'. They charge $4....that's $1 buck per side.

Seriously tho'...I head into the local co-ed local stylist shop for their $15 cut. Although, I guess like many it seems to be taking less time than it used to. I figure my hair fashion days are about 1/2 life right now....so maybe time to go Kojak soon and wipe out the controversy and the gray in one swoop.

For the first time recently I started shaving my huge melon bald. It was cool, but I'm lazy and even hate shaving my face. Plus Fusion blades ain't cheap.

I decided I am letting my hair grow as of the other day, and a year from now I will have a rockin' mullet.

Well it appears so far that I'm the only one using scissors in the mirror. Took me a while to get good at it, but nobody can tell now . . .

I should have said $15 or $20 for the stylist, and I guess that was what I was paying too when I was going down the street. I should have had a box for completely shaved . . Doh!

And Ziggy, you could check the QC's an idiot box. You'd be the only one so far (I guess that's a relief). I never really considered that people just let it go. Learn something new every day. Not that I have an issue with long hair. Me in 1977:

My shop of choice is the old barber that used to service the army base that was here in town before it got shut down (the base that is, not the barber...).

Old school hair cutting baby, I think he's been doing it since before the invention of electrically operated clippers. The main issue is that his repertoire is somewhat limited, Flat top or taper cut. LOL

But he only charges $10 (Canadian...), so I deal with it.

Wife cuts my hair, what's left of it.

But three years ago we were taking a driving trip through VA and stopped in my Dad's hometown. Saw a barber pole in front of this small building. Decided the best way to get to know folks was to get a haircut. It took an hour. Left a big tip, and came away with a wonderful memory. -Ken

I'm kinda like Tashasdaddy. Had hair to by butt for a long time, but cut it off when I started volunteering with the local army cadet corps. (Same one I was in as a kid) When I grew a beard with the long hair I definitely had the 'Jesus look' goin' on!

SWMBO is the family hairdresser. She's a nail technician and apprenticed in a salon to be a hairdresser for a while so she's pretty good. Mine's a simple 'short back and sides', #1 son has to be chloriformed and tied down to get his 'mop-top' trimmed (kid's got enough thick red hair for 3!), and Thing-2 is in cadets and alternates between a 1/4" buzz and the 'uncle fester'.

I on the other hand get to be her personal esthetician and wax her legs for her. Her choice! She doesn't want to spend the big $$ to get it done at a salon, and I get to get revenge for all the arguments I loose.

There used to be a sports bar here in NOVA that had a barbershop attached to it. I never got mine cut there, but you'd always see guys in there drinking their beers while getting haircuts...sometimes the barbers too!

I started using a #3 length on my clippers several months back & don't plan to pay again anytime soon.
