Happy New Year!
I tore my boat apart today and it wasn't even "broken". I've been using it weekly but decided to refresh it this winter. Here is a link to my teardown photos and a drawing to scale of my intended re-build floor plan. https://goo.gl/photos/7KKadFCFsfcLS78RA
Any idea's, suggestions, tips are welcome. Right now I need to decide on the layout, buy and cut the new plywood and either resin and cover with vinyl or have a spray in bed-liner company spray the interior of the boat. I plan to call to compare costs of these two methods soon. I know that I don't want carpet because I fish for stripers which involves catching live-bait and that can get messy. Hosing/pressure washing the floor out with no moisture retention in the carpet is something I'm really looking forward to.
I have a 500.00 budget for everything but I'm pretty handy and have learned a lot stalking the threads on this site.
My layout plans changed when I realized the open channel in the middle of the boat is the exact width of my bait tank. I was originally planning to have a very tall front deck with the bait tank under/part of the floor of the deck. But now, with the 6 inch recess into the floor, I like the idea of the tank being in the rear slightly tucked under the splash-well. The weight distribution is slightly concerning and I'm still thinking about which way to proceed. Any input is welcome. The bait tank is 30 gallons and about 270 pounds when full.
Have a great evening!
