I have 71 18hp evinrude, when its under full throttle it acts like its slipping and when you bring it down to an idle it will catch and take off again? any ideas please?
If you want to test for the spun hub, draw a line across the hub and prop, run it in the water until you hear it "slip", pull it out and see if the lines are no longer lined up. If they arent your prop hub is spun. You will need to get it re hubbed or get a new prop, depending on the shape of the prop and the amount you want to spend. GL
