Help!!

Trying to replace water pump on 100 hp evinrude. Removed shift pin as instructed in manual. But it will not drop down. There is about a .750 gap and thats as far as it will go. How much force does it take or is there something else that needs to be removed? I went by the manual.<br />Thanks in advance!!

When it's all unbolted,it should FALL-OFF, with zero force.<br />I believe this motor has a split shift shaft, but i'm not sure. If so, this will have to be seperated too. <br />If it were mine, I'd get the shop manual.<br />I know they are kinda high-priced, but then, when I'm in the middle of a job like yours and hit a snag, it is priceless.<br /><br />Good luck with your job.
