I have a 86 sea ray weekender 300 last weekend after running about 15 minutes the port engine died after checking all fuel filters and fuel pump I noticed only 1 jet pumping I took the carb apart and cleaned it now both jets are pumping but after a short period of running It stalls like the fuel has been shut off but starts back up sometimes it stalls at 1800 rpm or so others it would run up to 3500 and stall I have no clue could it be vapor lock

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... If it ain't been vapor lockin' during the last 25 odd years,...

Donno's that's much of a question...

I'd sooner think ya got Bad gas in the tank, or restricted filters, or a worn out carb, or fuel pump...

Re: Help with Q jet problems

Thanks for the info all the filters look surprisingly good I replaced them and disconnect the fuel line and the pump appeared to by pumping quite well the gas is all fresh. The previous owners rarely used the boat if it wasn't for the fact that I haven't touched a carb in 20 years lol I would rebuild it. Do you have an idea of what the cost may be or any suggestions on other things to check since money is tight lol
