Help with parts #'s interchange- Please.

I need a timer(ing) base for my 1988 110HP Evinrude. I find the part # listed as 0583379. I found one on ebay where the guy says that it is completely interchangeable with part # 0583289. I don't know how to cross check or find out for sure.Can any person help me with this. Thank You.

W2much,<br /><br />OMC P/N 0583289 was superceded with p/n 0583379, you can cross reference some p/n's using the parts search feature at ishopmarine.com.<br /><br />So in short, that timer base will work on your motor.

583289 is the original number for the "kit" that ss to 583379. <br /><br />"Kit" may mean that the boots were not on the wires from the factory. It should be the same but if you buy it, make sure the wires are in the right place (correct order). You may have to push some out and relocate them in the boot so the colors match up.
